How many tables should I play online poker?
One of the best aspects about online poker is the ability to multi-table. If you are a winning player, then by adding more tables you can multiply your earnings many times over. But how many poker tables should you play at once? Is there a sweet spot or an optimal number of tables for playing your best and remaining focused while still finding time to table select? Here is the short answer.
- Playing between 5 and 12 poker tables at once is the best way to consistently maximize your profits both from the tables as well as from rakeback and bonuses.
- Most professional poker players will play between 5 and 12 poker tables.
- How do I know this? I know this because after a decade of playing online poker and million and millions of hands later I have played every amount of tables between 1 and 30.
“Rakeback” by the way is a percentage of the rake you pay that many online poker rooms will give you back as an incentive to play there. “Bonuses” are usually either cash or tournament entries. You can earn them either when you signup at the poker site or while you play.

How do multi table poker tournaments work?
Poker: How To Play Multi Table Tournaments What are Multi Table Tournaments? Multi Table Tournaments are large-scale poker tournaments which can have a virtualy unlimited number of players. Everyone buys in for the same fee, and all players receive the same number of chips.
How do I sign up? When will the game start? Are Multi Table Tournaments a good start for beginners? What is the Blind Structure? What happens if I disconnect? What are the Tournament Fees? What different types of Tournaments are played? What is the payout structure?
Simply find a tournament you would like to play in under the “Scheduled Tournaments” tab; open its lobby and click ‘Register’. Unlike Sit and Go tournaments which start when a certain number of players have registered, Multi Table Tournaments start at specific times.
- Although more complex in strategy and structure than Sit & Go’s, Multi Table Tournaments still provide a great place to learn and improve your game.
- The mix of big prize pools, a longer time spent playing, and a deeper structure all make Multi Table Tournaments one of the best places to take your game to the next level.
Just like in Sit and Go’s, the blinds steadily rise in Multi Table Tournaments to force the action along. Multi Table Tournaments also usually include an ante at a certain level, increasing the action towards the later stages. The full blind structure is always available in the lobby of that specific tournament, both before it starts and during the game.
If you disconnect during a Multi Table Tournament you will immediately sit out. This means that you will still be dealt a hand, only that it will be folded. You will have to continue to pay the blinds and antes as they rotate around the table. Multi Table Tournaments always include a tournament fee of 10%, so a €10 buy in multi table tournament would have a fee of €1 added to it, and the buy in would be shown as €10+1.
Tournament fees are always clearly shown next to the buy in when in the lobby. Multi Table Tournaments come in a variety of shapes and forms at Betfair Poker. We have nine handed, six handed, and even heads up Multi Table Tournaments. They also come in a variety of structures, ranging from slower paced, deep stacked events, all the way to action-packed turbos.

Why? Are there any caveats one should be aware of?If I want to review some cards in two different orders, using two decks would accomplish this? - You can move it around into different decks, but there is only one copy of it.
- To achieve what you want to do, you need to create a new that grabs cards from your main deck.
- One of the options available to you is to grab a random selection.
- You can then “rebuild” the filtered deck to fill it with random cards and then “empty” to put them back into the original deck once you’re done.

Can you play multiple cards at once?
Regular Play – Regular play is mostly like regular UNO, with a few exceptions
The losing player from the previous game shuffles the deck. (Unless it’s the first game, then who cares?) The winning player from the previous game becomes dealer and deals seven cards to each player. The dealer then takes the top card from the deck and turns it over, forming a discard pile. Game play never begins with a ‘special’ card (reverse, skip, wild or draw). If a special card is turned first, it remains in the discard pile and new cards are turned over until a ‘regular’ card appears. Dealer determines direction of play (clockwise or counter-clockwise). The top card on the discard pile determines what can be played next based on the card type (i.e. special or number) and the color. (Ex: If it is a blue 7, only a blue card or a 7 card can be played by the next player.) Multiple cards of the same type or number (but different colors) can be played at once. (Ex: If a player has a blue 7, a red 7 and a green 7 in their hand, they may discard all three cards in one turn. So all cards of one type or number can be played in one turn.) During REGULAR PLAY, the following cards can be played together:
6’s and 9’s, Two 3’s can equal a 6, but there must be at least two 3’s, Provided you’ve played two 3’s, you may play any number of 3’s after that. Two 3’s do not equal a 9, nor do three 3’s, Don’t be ridiculous. Two 3’s can also equal an 8,8 does not equal 6 or 9, Ever.
(Ex: A Blue 7 is played. The next player could potentially play a blue 9, followed by a yellow 6, followed by a green 3 and a yellow 3, followed by a red 8 —all in one turn. The next player would then need to play either an 8 or any red card, or at least two 3’s of any color. Remember: Order matters. A player cannot play a 9, then 8 (because 8’s don’t equal 9’s ), then 6 (because 6’s don’t equal 8’s )). A Skip card will skip the next player’s turn. Skip the same number of players equal to the number of Skip cards discarded at one time. A Reverse card will reverse the play back to the previous player’s turn. The direction of play reverses for each Reverse card played.( Ex: If a player discards two Reverse cards, game play does a 180° turn and then another 180° turn, resulting gameplay moving in the same direction.) A Wild card cannot be used unless the player has no other moves. If the player cannot make a move, they must draw cards until they are able to play. A player’s turn ends when the next player (in order) discards onto the pile.
